The Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings

The Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings

Some of you already know how amazing these Apple Dumplings are. I saw this recipe years ago on the Pioneer Woman’s website. I’ve been hooked since the first bite. If you haven’t tried this recipe yet, head on over and make them! You won’t regret it.
The original recipe calls for Mountain Dew. I have tried it with Mountain Dew and it tastes the same as if you use Sierra Mist or 7-UP or Sprite. For the sake of caffeine with my heart(SVT), I use an alternative.
The Pioneer Woman’s Apple Dumplings
 2 Granny Smith Apples
2 cans Crescent Rolls
2 Sticks Butter
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Cinnamon
1 Small can of Sprite (3/4 cups)
Preheat the oven to 350. Peel and Core the apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices. Roll each apple in the crescent roll dough. Place the apples in a buttered 9 x 13 pan. (I don’t butter the pan anymore.) Melt the butter over medium low heat. Add the sugar and barely stir. Remove from heat and add in the vanilla. Barely stir and pour over the apples. Pour the Sierra Mist around the edges of the pan and down the middle. Don’t use more than a cup of soda. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes. Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream.
These are one of my favorite desserts.
